Summers Over!

We have spent the last 3 months in Manly, Brisbane awaiting cyclone season before we continue our journey north. Simon has been busy working on the boat adding a hard cockpit for shade, a fridge and freezer, new anchor chain, more solar panels, new windows… the list goes on and on. I’ve also been busy working back for my old work in Sydney. It was great to be back at work, even better knowing it was only for a few months!

We celebrated Simons 40th while at Manly with some of the many great friends we’ve made while cruising. My parents came for a visit and we explored North Stradbroke. Sloop (or Snoop or Burglar as he was know at Manly) was very busy traveling from boat to boat and even the slipway stealing what he could and dragging it back to proudly drop it at our door.

We’ve now departed Manly and are in Mooloolabah catching up with friends and finishing off some boat jobs. We should leave today heading for Double Island Point at the bottom of Fraser Island. From there – it all depends on how tired we are – should we go through the Sandy Straights, or around the outside of Fraser and onto Lady Musgrave and Fitzroy Reef?
