Gulf Crossing

Well it’s 30th June 2009, a day normally significant for accountants as it’s financial year end. Instead of worrying about journals and system closes, today was spent preparing for crossing the Gulf of Carpenteria. On the agenda was baking bread, cooking underway meals, stowing loose gear, tying everything down etc.

With a little wind forecast, albeit only 10-15 with afternoon sea breezes we are departing bright and early tomorrow morning for the 300nm passage – or about 21/2 days all going to plan.

See you on the other side!

PS yes we forward date posts in arrears so you can read while we have no service - our history will follow this - if that makes sense - God, who's navigating this boat???

I hope your navigational skills are better than that explanation. Otherwise I can just see you explaining a navigational move to Simon "Now, you see, if you look at the history of our last few navigational moves in arrears..." Yeah, see you on the flip side. I hope. :)
